“Oryx” Beaded Dog Lead from The Kenyan Collection. A fine leather dog lead designed in Black, Brown, Grey, Pewter, Pearl in circles and stripes on black leather, giving them a lasting impression. These designer Leads are not recommended for dogs that pull or for dogs over 50 pounds.

ABOUT THE ARTISANS – The Maasai Mamas
The Maasai are an ethnic group which inhabit southern Kenya and northern Tanzania. In the Maasai culture, their distinctive customs and dress sets them apart. Their beaded creations distinguish age, marital and their social status, in other words. By partnering with The Kenyan Collection, they’ve been able to earn a living and compete in the global marketplace. They live and work near their homes where they gather in small groups to share advice and stories. As the Mamas bead the leather provided to them, their one-of a kind designs are created for The Kenyan Collection.

These Masai Mama dog collars and leads are stunning. I have both for my dog and have given then as gifts on several occasions. They are as beautiful and well made as fine jewelry and never lose so much as a single bead. I receive compliments on them all the time :-). I also love that a portion of the proceeds go to the Masai women’s collaborative who in Kenya who makes them, thus improving the lives at the source.
